The above article outlines the final steps that still need to take place in the Senate for this bill to actually pass. But after the Senate has passed this bill in December already, and the House last night, it looks like this is all but Finalized. It is possible that this won't go through, but pretty unlikely at this point. President Obama is to sign the bill Tuesday.
This is sad really. When did Americans decide that the Government was going to be our keeper from cradle to grave? What happened to incentivised individual responsibility? The constitution guarantees its citizens only life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Not, food, clothing, shelter and healthcare. So disappointing.
